T    Tension

Adjust your tension regularly. No matter how sharp, a shear that is set too loose will bend rather than cut the hair. If it is set too tight, premature dulling will occur.

L   Lubrication

A drop or two of oil applied daily at the pivot points promotes smooth operation and helps maintain good tension.

C   Cleaning

Corrosive chemicals abound in salons and care should be taken to minimize their contact with your shears by wiping them frequently with a clean, soft cloth.
